Key Duties & Flight Safety

Second in Command: Performing as SIC in the transport of passengers, mail, and freight, ensuring all aspects of the flight meet safety standards.

Compliance: Adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), Company Flight Procedures, and internal policies.

Operational Coordination: Managing pre-flight paperwork, fueling, loading, and passenger handling to ensure on-time and safe departures.

CRM Leadership: Demonstrating exceptional Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) as a team member within the flight deck and across operational departments.

Professionalism: Maintaining a professional image, including grooming and demeanor, as a key representative of Horizon Air.
Flight Deck Architecture & Crew Coordination
The First Officer plays a critical role in the multi-crew environment, ensuring safety through standardized communication and technical proficiency.
Required Qualifications & SIDA Requirements

FAA Certification: Must meet FAA ATP or R-ATP requirements (typically 1,500 hours or specific university/military credits).

Experience: Prior Part 121 or high-performance turbine experience is preferred.

SIDA Badge: Employees must obtain and maintain an airport SIDA badge; failure to qualify or maintain this badge will result in termination.
