Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) Expertise

Policy Ownership: Developing and maintaining global revenue recognition policies in strict accordance with ASC 606 standards.

Contract Analysis: Leading the review of complex, multi-element customer contracts to identify performance obligations and determine transaction prices.

Manufacturing Specifics: Assessing timing for point-in-time vs. over-time revenue for custom manufacturing and analyzing variable considerations like rebates and warranties.

Collaboration: Partnering with Legal and Sales teams to provide real-time guidance on the financial impact of proposed contract terms.
Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting

Subject Matter Expert: Acting as the primary resource for technical accounting research, specifically for ASC 842 (Leases) and asset impairment testing.

SEC Filings: Overseeing the preparation of financial statement footnotes and MD&A disclosures for Forms 10-K and 10-Q.

Audit Management: Serving as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely resolution of technical accounting inquiries.

Standard Implementation: Monitoring FASB and SEC pronouncements to manage the company-wide implementation of new accounting standards.
Internal Controls & SOX Compliance
This role is critical for maintaining the integrity of the revenue cycle through robust internal controls.

Control Design: Implementing and maintaining effective SOX controls over revenue recognition and technical accounting.

Policy Governance: Communicating global policies to ensure consistency across international regions.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is highly preferred.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, preferably within a large manufacturing or EMS environment.

Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and the ASC 606/ASC 842 frameworks.

Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the energy to manage complex transactions independently.
