As we expand our global footprint, we are seeking a strategic Legal Counsel to lead our Trade and Customs division in the United States.

Core Responsibilities & Regulatory Guidance

• Trade Advisory: Providing expert legal advice on U.S. and global trade regulations, specifically focusing on Customs Valuation and Tariff Classification.

• Compliance Oversight: Partnering with internal logistics and customs teams to develop compliance policies, manage audits, and respond to regulatory inquiries.

• Agreement Management: Drafting and reviewing complex trade-related agreements and filings, while managing relationships with outside counsel.

• Strategic Monitoring: Assessing the business impact of emerging regulatory developments in the e-commerce and international shipping landscape.

Required Qualifications

• Legal Credentials: Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active membership in at least one state bar.

• Technical Experience: 3+ years of specialized legal experience in international trade, with a proven track record in customs and import issues.

• Industry Context: Preferred experience handling customs/import challenges specifically within the e-commerce or high-volume logistics industry.

• Communication: Strong ability to partner with cross-functional logistics teams and translate complex legal requirements into actionable business guidance.

Temu is a rapidly growing entity in the global market. As of 2024, Temu’s presence in the US has reshaped the e-commerce hierarchy, handling over 1 million packages per day entering the US. This role is critical in navigating the “De Minimis” tax rules and other trade policies that impact global supply chains.

Compensation & Comprehensive Benefits

• Total Salary: $200,000 to $400,000 per year, determined by experience and competencies.
