MES AI Technical Lead

Lumentum is seeking an experienced MES AI Technical Lead to spearhead the deployment and scaling of Artificial Intelligence within our Manufacturing Execution Systems. This role is a cornerstone of our digital transformation, focusing on integrating cutting-edge AI models into production workflows to enhance Visual Inspection (VI) and other critical manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities & Global Impact

• AI Deployment: Leading the rollout of AI models across multiple global facilities, specifically targeting Visual Inspection and advanced manufacturing steps.

• Global Coordination: Partnering with external AI vendors and internal cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations) to ensure seamless model integration.

• On-Site Assessments: Providing technical support and conducting on-site assessments at six global manufacturing locations to identify new integration opportunities.

• Capability Building: Creating detailed technical documentation, integration guides, and training materials to strengthen long-term internal AI expertise.

• Mentorship: Training internal technicians and engineers on AI tools, troubleshooting, and sustaining AI workflows within the MES environment.

Technical Qualifications & Expertise

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Experience: Extensive background in MES environments and technical leadership in AI/ML deployment within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

• Skills: Strong proficiency in system integration, digital transformation strategies, and the ability to handle complex technical troubleshooting across global time zones.

Compensation, Benefits & Work Style

• Salary Range: A competitive base salary ranging from $130,850 to $186,900, supplemented by annual bonuses, equity, and health benefits.
