Key Responsibilities of the Chief, Cyber Security

Required Qualifications and Conditions of Employment

All applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet strict federal employment criteria. Additional requirements include:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% annually for temporary duty assignments (TDYs).
  • Compliance with the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program requirements.
  • Acquisition of DoD-approved cybersecurity baseline certifications.
  • Filing of an OGE-450 Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon appointment and annually thereafter.

This position falls under the NH-2210-04 (GS-14/15 equivalent) pay scale, with salaries ranging from \$127,818 to \$195,200 annually, depending on qualifications, location, and experience.

Educational Background and Professional Expertise

Applicants must meet the 2210 Information Technology Management series requirements as specified by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). A background in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred. Work Environment and Travel Expectations
