Core Responsibilities & Claims Management

  • Eligibility Review: Analyzing leave of absence requests based on medical conditions, provider recommendations, and complex federal/state guidelines (such as FMLA).

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Actively reaching out to employees, employers, healthcare providers, and attorneys to gather essential documentation for claim decisions.

  • Empathetic Communication: Delivering claim decisions in a clear, caring, and professional manner, ensuring clients feel supported during times of illness or injury.

  • Compliance & Accuracy: Ensuring every decision aligns with insurance contracts, corporate procedures, and all applicable state and federal laws.

  • Data Protection: Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality regarding personal health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA and Sun Life protocols.
