Role Overview: Shaping Future Educators
The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee is seeking an Adjunct University Supervisor for the Elementary Education program. This role is vital in bridging the gap between academic theory and classroom practice. You will be responsible for overseeing preservice teacher interns during their early field experiences and final internships within local school districts, ensuring they develop the pedagogical skills necessary for a successful career in education.
Core Responsibilities & Clinical Coaching

Observation & Evaluation: Observing teacher candidates as they deliver lessons and interact with students, providing objective assessments of their performance.

Coaching Cycles: Conducting full coaching cycles, including pre-conferences to set goals, classroom observations, and post-conferences for reflective feedback.

Mentorship Collaboration: Maintaining strong relationships with host schools and collaborating effectively with the interns’ mentor teachers to support student growth.

Seminar Leadership: Leading weekly seminar classes that align with clinical experiences, helping interns navigate challenges and develop professional solutions.

Academic Support: Grading assignments related to the clinical experience course and completing all required university documentation and grading.
Required Qualifications & Expertise

Education: A Master’s degree from an accredited institution is REQUIRED.

Teaching Experience: At least three (3) years of successful K-6 teaching experience.

Coaching Skills: Demonstrated expertise in coaching preservice or in-service teachers and clinical education training.

Communication: Exceptional ability to foster professional relationships with school district partners and teacher candidates.
